In today's world we use many resources, such as wood, gas, and oil. Some of our most important resources are rocks and minerals. In fact we use them in so many ways that cars, watches, and buildings all need them.

Gold is a good example of a mineral that has many uses. We all know it makes beautiful jewelry. But it also has at least three other uses:
- Money
- Dentists use it to cover a hole in a tooth left by a cavity
- It is a cure for some types of arthritis
Gold is only one of many minerals and rocks used in modern times. Why are rocks and minerals important? What are they used for? That is the focus of this project.
